MSGA Summit 2017

The Malaysian Students’ Global Alliance (MSGA) Summit is the annual flagship program held by the Malaysian Students’ Global Alliance to gather young Malaysians for a fruitful exchange of experiences, ideas and opportunities.

Participants are able to tailor their own unique summit experience, by choosing from our parallel sessions that cover multiple topics ranging from sustainable development, depression, women empowerment and refugee education.

Event Summary

The MSGA Summit 2017 was a huge success shown by the large gathering of ambitious young Malaysians for a fruitful exchange of experiences, ideas and opportunities through parallel sessions conducted by our member councils. The day-long summit saw close to 300 students from more than 11 countries, with backgrounds ranging from STEM to humanities to pre-university.

Our workshop-like parallel sessions gave participants the opportunity for direct involvement in generating recommendations for a better Malaysia, and a large proportion of students were eager about making change for Malaysia’s future. The Closing Plenary addressed Inequality between East and West Malaysia which saw speakers from reputable organisations including the World Bank Group.

The MSGA Summit organising committee would like to thank those who showed-up to support our event! We also hope the event was an insightful and heated experience for all who attended. We hope to meet again in summer 2018 for the next episode in the Summit series.
